Learn Basic Landscape Design, Monday, September 18, 2017 at 7 p.m., with Dr. Tom Knight at the Blount County Library’s Sharon Lawson Room. This is the first presentation in the new four-part Outdoor Landscape Gardening series.
Dr. Knight is a retired professor of horticulture and landscape design at Eastern Kentucky University. At this session, he will introduce basic home landscape design principles. The use of color, shape, form and function of landscape features will be addressed as well as plant selection and proper placement within the landscape to maximize aesthetic appeal and functionality.
Proper use of hardscape features, along with green materials, will be visited to complement understanding of landscape access features and service areas. A properly planned, installed and maintained landscape can certainly add curb appeal and may add to property value as well.
Free and open to the public, this program is hosted by the Blount County Public Library, located at 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville. For further information about library programs or services, call the library at (865) 982-0981 or visit the Web site at www.blounttn.org/197.
