In celebration of recent renovations by the Foundation and the Friends of the Blount County Public Library, the community is invited to an Open House on Sunday, November 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. In addition, the Champion of the Library Award will be presented.
During the past year, the Foundation and Friends have sponsored many updates to the library facility and to some of the services provided. Some of the services updates include a new online catalog system, a new online noncredit class database, “Learn4Life,” and subscriptions to Zinio, an online service that gives library patrons access to online magazines through the library website at www.blountlibrary.org .
Improvements to the library’s facility include rearrangement of the Children’s Library, new tile and fixtures in the public restrooms, a new digital outdoor sign, outdoor benches, an automatic door on the Greenway side of the building, and so much more!
So stop by the library on Sunday—or any other day–and enjoy taking a look at some of the new features made available through private donations to the Foundation and Friends of the Library.
Free and open to the public, the program is sponsored by the Blount County Public Library, located at 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville.
