The Maryville Area Dulcimer Club will perform its 10th Anniversary Concert at Blount County Public Library on Monday, November 4, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the Main Gallery.
The Maryville Area Dulcimer Club (MADC) includes men and women with a wide range of ages, walks of life, and skill levels. Participants enjoy playing a variety of music: fiddle tunes, hymns, waltzes, Celtic, Civil War and Appalachian—anything that sounds good!
The mountain dulcimer is the main instrument members play; however just about any instrument is welcomed. Individuals in the club membership have been known to play ban jammers (mountain dulcimer & banjo combo), hammered dulcimers, violins, guitars, mandolins, autoharps, and bass fiddles.
Various members of the club, or the club as a whole, have put on concerts for community festivals and clubs, nursing and assisted living homes and church services or gatherings. An annual community concert is provided at Blount County Public Library.
Open to the public, this program is hosted by the Blount County Public Library, located at 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville. For further information about library programs or services, call 982-0981 or visit the library website.
