Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Musical Story Time
As a special edition of the Library’s Little Learners story time, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra String Quartet will perform in the Main Gallery of the Library on Thursday, 13 April 2017, at 10:30 a.m.
The KSO String Quartet performance will combine children’s literature with classical music, sound effects and hands-on learning. A reader will read a short story aloud while members of the string quartet play music that complements the story in an especially delightful expression of one art form imitating another. Family members of all ages are invited to attend this event along with their “little learner” (ages 3 to 5 years).
The KSO visits library branches throughout twenty counties in upper East Tennessee annually sharing these programs which are specifically designed for pre-school aged children and their families. This year’s appearance by the KSO Quartet is coordinated by Jennifer Barnett.
Free and open to the public, the program is sponsored by the Blount County Public Library, located at 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville. For further information about library programs or services, call the library at (865)982-0981 or visit the Web site at www.blounttn.org/197.
