Blount County Friends of the Library presented a check for $1500 to Smoky Mountain Service Dogs on October 16 at the library. The funds were donated from the many generous Friends who attend the Quarterly Book Sales.
These specific donations were designated to support veteran services. Sandy very obediently accompanied Laurie Birt and Debra Sciarretta to accept the check and become an official Furry Friend of the Library.
Both ladies are board members at SMSD, Laurie a handler, Debra a past foster. On hand to present the check were Bruce Robertson, FOL Treasurer, and Mike Hammack, FOL Director-at-Large.
