Our amazing quarterly book sales are usually in March, June, September and December. The June 2020 book sale was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the Library’s reopening, weekly Book Sales were held every Saturday through October 31, 2020. Starting in November, 2020, Book Sales will be held monthly on the second Saturday. Hours will be 10 to 4, with Members only from 10 to noon. Note that this schedule may change due to COVID-19. ►Join or renew membership here or at the Library.
Important! Monthly Book Sales are currently suspended. Watch for announcements here, on the BCPL Events Calendar, and on BCFOL’s Facebook page.
Books and collectibles at the sales are donations. If you have books that you would like to donate, please see How to Donate Books to the Friends of the Library.
Recent book sales have offered more than 50,000 books, plus DVDs, children’s books, collectibles, Library discards, and more! If you love to read, if you love books, this is a Book Bargain Event you cannot miss. Members of Blount County Friends of the Library have early access to quarterly book sales the day before they open to the public.
Book Sale Schedule
Beginning July 11, 2020
We’ve missed our quarterly book sales! As Blount County Public Library reopens, we want our community and Friends of the Library members to again be able to purchase our donated books. We want to keep everyone safe, so rather than a large quarterly book sale, we are scheduling more frequent sales with a limited number of spots to keep the sales floor (Library Lower Level) uncrowded.

Build your own Library!
The selection of gently pre-owned books is excellent, and many are in mint condition. There are books for everyone and they’re well-organized for easy browsing. Collectible Books are also available. The book sale depends on donations, and we’re grateful for the support and thoughtfulness of our community in making our book sales renowned for their size and quality!
Collectible Books
The Friends started offering collectibles in 2006 as a response to the number of donated books that seemed to have special value. Such books included out of print or first editions, author-signed volumes, and particularly beautiful or unique works. To make them easy for our customers to find, they are in a special section. There are selected photos of collectible items on the BCFOL Facebook page.
